Go to Start

The GOTO START key affects all channels of InterCart.  Playback is halted and each channel recues to the first item in the list for that channel.  This is equivalent to initialising a tape Cart system before transmission begins.  This function effectively resets both the panel and the Clipbox port regardless of the current conditions, and to achieve this it ignores the on air tallies from the Directors Panel for a period of five seconds.
It is important to realise that if you are playing a clip on air, even when protected by the on air tally, the GOTO START key will recue the clip that is on air.
GOTO START is the only function that ignores the on air tallies.

Go to Cursor

The GOTO CURSOR key affects all channels and can be used to omit a block of items from the playlist without individually deleting each item.  Use the UP and DOWN keys to move the cursor to the first item that is required, then press GOTO CURSOR.  InterCart will recue all channels (except those protected by on air tallies) as if the required item is the first item in the list.

Next

The NEXT key aborts the item that is at the top of the list for the current channel.  The key sequence PLAY followed by NEXT will terminate the clip that is playing (if it is not protected by an on air tally).  InterCart will then cue up the following item in the list for that channel.

Cue

The CUE key will recue the item that is at the top of the list for the current channel.  The key sequence PLAY followed by CUE will terminate the clip that is playing (if it is not protected by an on air tally) and recue the clip to its start point.

Last

The LAST key has no function when the Translator is on.  When the Translator is off, the LAST key will restore a previously used item ready to play again.  This key provides a method of reversing through a manually entered list during a rehearsal period.

Menu 9

MENU 9 provides information about the Cart emulation.
BIN STATUS:  12 USED.    DID = 10.
In this case, InterCart is reporting that it has Cart tapes in 12 of its Cart tape bins.  This information is provided to the Automation System along with details of each tape in every bin.  InterCart has 40 bins which are managed automatically depending on the contents of the playlist and the availability of the required clips on Clipbox.
In order to keep up with title changes and clip modifications caused by other devices attached to Clipbox, InterCart registers itself with the Clipbox Database.  In order to do this, InterCart must use a Device ID to distinguish itself from other devices and other InterCarts connected to the same Clipbox.  The Device ID (DID) is automatically determined by each InterCart so that it does not conflict with other InterCarts on the same Clipbox, and the result is reported in the MENU 9 display.
To guarantee that two InterCarts do not have the same Device ID, InterCart uses the Clipbox port number that the InterCart cable is plugged into.  This number is independent of the ports that are being used by the InterCart.
