SECURITY OPTION
Your Interlinear will not be fitted with the Security Option unless you have requested it.
Overview
The control panel will be in one of two states: LOCKED or UNLOCKED.
When locked, the panel can only be unlocked by entering the Personal Identification Number (PIN). While locked, the control panel keys and optional PC keyboard will not operate. Both Jog and Shuttle leds will light to indicate that the panel is locked.
When unlocked, the panel will lock automatically after a preset time with no keyboard or knob activity. Also, the panel may be locked manually if desired.
Locked Mode
- Jog and Shuttle LEDs light at the same time to indicate that the panel is locked
- The panel cannot be operated except to enter the unlock command
- Play and record operations already in progress will continue normally
- Translator function will continue normally
Unlocked Mode
- Jog and Shuttle LEDs will function normally
- All keyboard functions will operate normally
- Translator functions will operate normally
Unlock Command
The panel will remain locked until the correct PIN is entered using the number pad on the panel:
X X X X ENTER X X X X = your PIN
The PIN must be four digits, and must match the PIN set by using Menu 97.
- Play and Record operations already in progress will not be interrupted
- Translator functions already in progress will not be interrupted
Lock Command
Optionally the lock command may be given if desired by pressing the following keys:
MENU 9 9 ENTER
The panel will beep and Jog and Shuttle LEDs will light.
Automatic Locking
If there is no keyboard or knob activity, the panel will lock automatically after the time set by Menu 98. The panel will beep and both Jog and Shuttle LEDs will flash for ten seconds before the lock engages. Any key activity at this point will cancel the impending lock. After ten seconds the panel will beep again and the Jog and Shuttle LEDs will stop flashing to indicate that the lock has engaged. After this, no keyboard activity will be processed, except for the unlock command.
Hot Tip
To cancel the automatic lock when the Jog and Shuttle LEDs are flashing, rotate the knob or press a cursor key.
