USING CLIPBOX PORTS
Interlinear connects to Clipbox using one control cable (RS422).
The control cable may be connected to any available control port socket on Clipbox. Without moving this cable from the selected socket, Interlinear can control any Clipbox port that is free.
Taking Control of a Clipbox Port
Connect the RS422 control cable to the Clipbox control port that Interlinear will normally use. When the connection is made and Interlinear is powered up, Interlinear will take control of the port that was used in the previous session, if it is free. If the port is not free, or this is the first time that Interlinear has been powered up, Interlinear will activate the port select dialogue so that you can choose the port to use.
Changing the Master Port
The main Clipbox port that Interlinear uses for playing and recording is called the Master Port.
To change the Master Port, press these keys: MENU 1 X ENTER where X is the number of the new Clipbox port to use. To help you, a dialogue box can be seen on the display. Interlinear will free the currently used port and then take control of the specified new port, if it is free.
It is not necessary to move the connection of the control cable or to adjust RS422 routing.
By the way, if the port is not free, and you want Interlinear to override the existing user, press these keys: MENU 1 X + ENTER where X is the Clipbox port number to override, and + is the plus symbol on the number pad. Interlinear will take control of this port by force if possible.
Using Two Ports Simultaneously
Interlinear can control two ports of Clipbox to provide special functions for:
- Video/Key, where two clips are output in sync from two Clipbox ports
- Dubbing, where one Clipbox port plays a clip for the other Clipbox port to record
Taking Control of the Slave Port
The second Clipbox port that Interlinear uses is called the Slave Port.
To take control of the Slave Port, press these keys: MENU 2 X ENTER where X is the number of the Clipbox port to use. To help you, a dialogue box can be seen on the display. Interlinear will take control of the second port, if it is free.
A second control cable is not required. Interlinear controls two ports using one cable.
It is not necessary to move the connection of the control cable or to adjust RS422 routing.
If the second port is not free, you may override the existing user, as described above.
