AUDIO DUBBING METHOD - SETUP

  1. First select a Clipbox port for playback.  Press the MENU key and then the 1 key.  Interlinear displays the Master Port Select Menu.  Enclosed in the brackets is the number of the currently selected Clipbox port.  Interlinear also displays the numbers of the Clipbox ports that are currently free to use.  The example below shows the Menu 1 display when Interlinear is using Clipbox port 7 and port 13 is free.

CLIPBOX PORT A > 7<  13

  1. Enter the number of the desired playback port and press ENTER.  Menu 1 will disappear from the display when Interlinear gains control of the specified port.  If there is a problem, Menu 1 will remain on the display after the enter key has been pressed.  Please try again with another port.

  • If the desired port number is displayed in the brackets already, press ENTER.

  • If the desired port number is not displayed then it is not free because it is in use by another user.  Ports that are not free may be selected by force, but this is not recommended because this will disrupt the other user.

  • Sometimes a port is not freed when the other user finishes his session.  In this case it is permissible to select his port by force.  Enter the number of the port that is not free, then press the + key before the ENTER key.  Interlinear will take control of the other users port.

  1. At the beginning of the session, a recording port is not usually required because dubbing is not completed yet.  If this is the case, please free the Interlinear recording port used in a previous session to help to reduce the workload of Interlinear and Clipbox.  To do this, press the MENU key and then the 2 key.  Interlinear displays the Slave Port Select Menu.  Press the CLEAR key and then the ENTER key.  Interlinear releases the recording port and the Menu disappears from the display.  The example below shows the Menu 2 display when Interlinear is using Clipbox port 14 to record audio.

  1. Now select the playback clip.  Playback clips can be selected by clip number (optionally Media ID) or by title.  You may choose the method that you prefer.

  • To select the clip by number or Media ID, press the CLIP key on the panel, or F1 on the PC keyboard.  Enter the playback clip number or Media ID data into the panel or the PC keyboard.  As you enter the data, Interlinear will interrogate Clipbox and display the title of the clip.  The example below shows the number or Media ID "1234" being entered, with Interlinear confirming the title "flag waving".

> 1234 <  FLAG WAVING

  • When the title is confirmed correctly, press the ENTER key.  Interlinear will load the clip for playback and the first frame of video will be output from the Clipbox playback port.  After the ENTER key is pressed, the timecode and the duration of the clip (30 minutes in this example) are displayed on the Interlinear panel.

  • To select the clip by title, press the TITLE key on the panel, or F2 on the PC keyboard.  Enter the title into the PC keyboard.  As you enter the title data, Interlinear will interrogate Clipbox and display the number or Media ID of the clip.  The example below shows the title "flag waving" being entered, with Interlinear confirming the number or media ID "1234".  In this case, Interlinear finds the clip that matches the title even before all the title data has been entered.
